While circumstances such as the current economic situation and labour market trends may be beyond your control, there are still many things that you can determine, and thus make your job search (even) more effective.

In every job, there are ups and downs – in job search too. Sometimes, things will go smoothly, on other days you might feel bored, frustrated or lonely. Some activities you will like more, and some of them less, just like in any other job. Treat it as a normal part of the process, but still try to make it better whenever possible – this website contains lots of tips.

There is something special and positive about the job search time. Why? Well, it is not unusual for people to get stuck in jobs that do not satisfy them, but under the pressure of responsibilities and concerns about being unemployed, they stay in those jobs, and so lose valuable years of their lives doing things that frustrate them.

No matter whether you took the decision to search for a new job on your own initiative, or you found yourself as a job seeker due to external circumstances, you are one step ahead. Now you have the unique chance to work towards a job that you can look forward to every morning.

I encourage you to use the chance and invest your time in it. We spend a big part of our lives at work, and if the work and its surroundings satisfy our needs, it gives us energy instead of taking it all away. I wish you a lot of motivation, ideas and good luck to be soon enjoying your new job.

Remember, you can always contact a professional for additional support throughout your job search.
